Four numbers you trust beat forty you do not.

Most reporting is a Monday morning spent exporting CSVs into a spreadsheet that is wrong by Wednesday. We build the pipeline once, the dashboard on top of it, and the report that lands in your inbox every Monday at 7am without anyone doing anything.

This is the whole Monday report.

Twelve months of sample data for a repair business whose marketing budget barely moves: what it earned, what booked, what a booking cost to win, and who did not turn up. Four numbers, each with a written definition further down the page.

Metric definitions

Every number on that screen has one meaning, written down.

Before we build the first dashboard you sign off on a page like this one. It is the difference between a report people argue with and a report people act on.

Signed off before the first dashboard is built, and changed only in writing.

Revenue

Higher is better

Money invoiced for work completed in the month, after discounts and before refunds, taken from the accounting system rather than the job software so it matches the books.

Read from The accounting system, not the job software

Booked jobs

Higher is better

Appointments confirmed on the calendar in the month, counted once each, whichever channel they came through and whether or not the customer had booked before.

Read from The scheduling calendar

Cost per booked job

Lower is better

Everything spent on marketing in the month divided by the jobs that actually booked, so a click or a call that went nowhere still counts against it.

Read from Ad platforms and the calendar together

No-show rate

Lower is better

Booked appointments where the customer was not there, or cancelled inside 24 hours, as a share of every appointment booked in the month.

Read from The scheduling calendar
