About

Small on purpose.

Four new clients a month, one person who knows your account, and a hard rule against working with two direct competitors in the same service area. That is the whole business model.

Growth that outruns service quality is how agencies go bad.

Founder & CTO, Balsam Solutions

I started Balsam Solutions after watching too many good businesses lose work for dumb reasons.

Not because their work was bad — because a website form went to a dead inbox, or a Saturday caller got voicemail and phoned the next name on the list, or an invoice sat unsent for three weeks because it was busy season, or two systems that should have been talking needed somebody to retype between them every Friday.

None of that is a technology problem. It is a "nobody owns it" problem.

So that is what we sell. We own it. The site, the booking, the payments, the integrations, the cloud account, the backups, and a desk that picks up at 2am on a Sunday when a pipe lets go.

And when nothing off the shelf actually fits, we write the software ourselves — in your GitHub organization, on boring durable technology, so it is yours the day it ships and not a thing you rent from us.

You will have my cell number. Not a ticket portal.

We take on 4 new clients a month. When the month is full, it is full.

No 12-month lock-ins. 30 days notice, and everything leaves with you.

We do not resell your leads, and we will not work with two direct competitors in the same Central Texas service area.

How we are different

Not better. Just structured differently.

A bigger firm has capabilities we do not — a design department, a sales team, a partner tier. What they cannot have is the person writing your code also being the person who picks up when you call.

You get one person, not an account manager

The person who takes your first call is the person who writes your code and answers your text in month nine. There is no handoff to a junior team after you sign.

One bill instead of four vendors

Not a web agency plus an IT company plus an automation consultant plus a security contractor, all pointing at each other. One invoice, one person to text, one plan.

We cap how many clients we take

Four a month. When it is full, we say so and put you in next month. Growth that outruns service quality is how agencies go bad.

Everything is in your name

Your domain, your cloud account, your GitHub organization, your Stripe, your Google or Microsoft tenant, your phone numbers. We are an administrator you can remove in about a minute.

How it goes

Four steps, and you can see the whole thing before you spend anything.

No discovery retainer, no 40-page audit you will never read. Here is literally what happens.

01

Day 0

A 30-minute call where you do most of the talking

No deck, no discovery framework. We ask what your last three lost jobs or lost customers had in common, what your busiest week looks like, and what you personally do after 8pm that you should not be doing.

Your part

Half an hour, and honesty about what is broken.

Our part

A written summary the same day of what we heard and what we would fix first.

02

Week 1

We shadow the actual work

We listen to real calls, read your last 20 invoices, sit in on a dispatch morning or a Monday stand-up, and watch the spreadsheet everyone actually runs on. Almost every plan we write changes after this week, because what owners say is broken and what is actually broken rarely match.

Your part

Access, and one hour from whoever really knows the process.

Our part

A one-page plan with a sequence and a price. Not a 40-page audit.

03

Weeks 2–4

We build the thing that stops the bleeding first

Not the whole system. The one piece with the fastest payback — usually the intake, the booking or the invoice that goes out late. It goes live inside a month, so you feel a difference before the second invoice.

Your part

Content, your price book, and quick answers in a shared text thread.

Our part

Working software in production, plus training your team will actually sit through.

04

Month 2+

We run it, and we tell you the truth about it

A monthly working session — not a slide deck. Four numbers that matter to your business, and what moved them. If something is not working, we say so and change it. If you should be spending less with us, we say that too.

Your part

One hour a month.

Our part

Everything else. Plus my cell number when something breaks at 6am.

When we are the wrong call

We would rather lose the sale on the first call than spend six months proving we were a bad fit. Any of these describe you? Say so and we will point you somewhere better.

You want the cheapest option. We are not it — and the cheapest option is genuinely fine for some businesses.

You want a website and nothing else, forever. A one-time build with no upkeep is a fair thing to want, just not what we are built for.

You want custom software before you have tried configuring something off the shelf. We will say so on the first call, even though the custom build is the bigger invoice.

You need a full-time in-house technology team. Past about fifty people you should hire, not outsource.

You want us to buy reviews, spin up fake locations, or run gray-hat SEO. That gets your Google profile killed, and we like being able to sleep.

You are looking for someone to blame. We will own our mistakes, but the process around the software is a shared job.

The rules we hold ourselves to

01

We take on 4 new clients a month. When the month is full, it is full.

02

No 12-month lock-ins. 30 days notice, and everything leaves with you.

03

We do not resell your leads, and we will not work with two direct competitors in the same Central Texas service area.

Office hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00am – 6:00pm CT
The desk: The answering desk never closes. Nights, weekends, holidays, storm weeks.

Book the 30 minutes. Worst case, you leave with a plan you can hand to someone else.

No deck. No pitch. You talk about what your week actually looks like and we write down what we would fix first.
