What we collect, why, and how to make us delete it. In plain words, because the point is that you understand it.

Who we are

Balsam Solutions LLC is a small technology company based in Austin, working with businesses across Central Texas. We are the ones who decide what this site collects and what happens to it.

Email pst@balsamsolutions.com. It lands with a person, not a queue.

What we collect

Only two kinds of thing: what you type into a form, and what your browser tells every website it visits.

  • Enquiries and plan calls: your name, business name, email, an optional phone number, your trade, roughly how many people you have, what you are interested in, what is going wrong, and your timing.
  • Package quotes: everything above, plus the plan and projects you selected and any notes you added.
  • Cookie choices: a consent id, the policy version, what you clicked, which categories you allowed, and when.
  • Technical basics that arrive with any web request: the page you are on, your browser and operating system, and your IP address.

We do not ask for card numbers, government ids or anything about your customers through this website. If a project needs that later, it happens under a signed agreement, not a web form.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, to quote the work, to keep a record of what we agreed, and to keep the site standing up. That is the whole list.

We do not sell your details, we do not rent them, and we do not hand them to a data broker. We take on four new clients a month — we do not have a list to sell.

Your IP address, specifically

Consent receipts are the one place we would have been tempted to store an IP address, and we do not. We store a one-way hash of your IP and browser string instead: enough to show a receipt belongs to one visitor, not enough to work backwards to you.

Where it goes

Nowhere you would not expect, and no further than it has to.

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and the database behind it.
  • Resend sends the notification email that tells us you got in touch. If it is not configured, that email simply does not send.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It sets no cookie, keeps no identifier and never sees you personally, which is why it does not ask.
  • Meta advertising pixels run only if you switch marketing on. Most months there is nothing to run.

Everything else stays with us.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and quotes stay while there is a reason for them: an open conversation, a live project, or a tax record we are required to keep. When there is no reason left, they go.

Cookie choices last twelve months in your browser, and the matching receipt stays with us as proof of what you were shown and what you answered.

Ask us to delete something and we will, unless the law says we have to keep it — in which case we will tell you which bit and why.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold. A correction. Deletion. A refusal to be emailed again. You do not need a reason and you do not need a form.

Email pst@balsamsolutions.com. It lands with a person, not a queue. We answer within a business day, and we will not make you prove anything beyond enough to know it is your data you are asking about.

Children

This is a site for people who run businesses. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

When this changes

If we change what we collect, we change this page, and we change the cookie policy version so the banner asks you again rather than assuming an old yes still counts.
